Springwater WTM Magpie is a very special doe. She is my birthday present to myself, and a doe I’ve long admired. Magpie has some amazing genetics and is tightly line bred on Sugar Moon NS Alejandro. She is from one of the top show herds in the country and has amazing general appearance. Magpie moved from Idaho in milk, and still managed to not lose production. She made the Elite list this year as a FF! She also did Linear Appraisals with us and did fantastic. This doe takes it all in stride! Magpie is such a character, and she’s very cherished here. Her favorite things are food and people:) She will remain here, and the plan is to incorporate her lines into our dairy herd.

Magpie has truly made an enormous impact in our herd. She continues to excel! She earned 2 Reserve Champion ribbons at TSDGA show in June 2025. She is maturing beautifully and is set to earn her milk star and participate in linear appraisal this year. We have 2 daughters in our herd. Her dry yearling daughter, Fae, went to her first show (TSDGA 2025) and took a Reserve Champion in Ring 1, and went on to earn Grand Champion and Best in Show in Ring 2. She is our first doe to earn a leg, and a homebred doe at that. We couldn’t be happier with these lines!

2024 BDGA show: 2nd place doe out of 20 does in ring 1. 3rd place doe out of 20 does in ring 2.

2025 TSDGA show: 2nd place 4 year old in Ring 1 and Ring 2. Reserve Champion doe in Ring 1 and 2!
